Still camping……

The days continued on and I longed to be back in a bed. I was dirty, there were mosquito bites all over my body, I hadn’t done my hair or makeup in days and my pictures were showing that off quite nicely, my towel smelled like mildew, my bags were caked in mud and constantly wet from dew and I was wearing the same pair of shorts for 5 out of 6 days. For the first time ever I was dreaming about going back to a hostel, I only had a few days left in Oz I was really going out with a bang “accommodation-wise”.

In the meantime I finally got a German tent-mate named Judith; and we became tent professionals. By the end of the trip we were able to pitch our tents and lay out our swags in 3 minutes flat. People were impressed! I guess that’s what happens when you find a partner just as competitive as yourself!

Here are pictures of some of the amazing things we did and saw along the way.

Wave Rock

Uphill Hiking at Castle Rock

Exploring rocks that once connected Australia and Antarctica over 45 million years ago! They were huge!

Elephant Rocks

Tree top walk high in the sky to get a feel for the height of the giant eucalyptus trees. You can see the bridge we walked on in the top of the below photo.

Thaila and I, my new friend from Holland.

This tree has a face!

Ok this is the craziest thing I’ve ever done! This tree used to be used by firemen as a lookout for forest fires. Only in Australia would you be allowed to climb this. I mean no one was there if you fell! Look how high it is.

Going up

And up

And up!! Very scary!

Our camping bus.

My partner in crime, Judith.
