The days continued on and I longed to be back in a bed. I was dirty, there were mosquito bites all over my body, I hadn’t done my hair or makeup in days and my pictures were showing that off quite nicely, my towel smelled like mildew, my bags were caked in mud and constantly wet from dew and I was wearing the same pair of shorts for 5 out of 6 days. For the first time ever I was dreaming about going back to a hostel, I only had a few days left in Oz I was really going out with a bang “accommodation-wise”.
In the meantime I finally got a German tent-mate named Judith; and we became tent professionals. By the end of the trip we were able to pitch our tents and lay out our swags in 3 minutes flat. People were impressed! I guess that’s what happens when you find a partner just as competitive as yourself!
Here are pictures of some of the amazing things we did and saw along the way.
Ok this is the craziest thing I’ve ever done! This tree used to be used by firemen as a lookout for forest fires. Only in Australia would you be allowed to climb this. I mean no one was there if you fell! Look how high it is.
